The Lyme Disease Association of the Eastern Shore of Maryland is holding two local meetings titled "What You Should Know About Lyme Disease" 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 29 at the Woodrow T. Wilson Community Center on Seventh Street in Crisfield and Wednesday, Aug. 11 at the Snow Hill firehouse, 4718 Snow Hill Road.
In 2001 a New York university tested ticks from Maine to Florida including a site in Somerset County and found 81.1 percent of Somerset County ticks tested positive for Lyme disease. This free community forum will help residents know the dangers and better understand the illnesses that Lyme disease can cause.
Call 410-749-LYME (5963) for more information.
